A Sharing from Xiao En (2005)
Annual church camp, later came to be known as Alpha camp, has always been something very close to my heart, something I look forward to every single year. Since a young age, it is through church camps at the end of the year when I come closer to God and also am able to spend quality time with fellow church friends. I started off as a camper, a participant, and annual camps were 'the factor' for which I went back to doing quiet time regularly, spending time with God everyday. Then later as we grew older, it was our turn to serve, to be in the committee, to lead groups. A different type of learning experience, seeing how God greatly blesses us, with youths planning the program, leading activities and worship sessions, and even more heartening is to see how the younger ones are also coming up to serve together in the committee. Spending a few days actually living together with fellow church friends also tightens the bond between all of us, and brings us even closer together. Team spirit and togetherness is also an aim of the camp, and I always feel so at home among my group members, even though we may be of different ages and may seldom talk in church on Sundays, but through alpha camp, I got to know my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ even better. Alpha camp is fun! Must join and bring your friends to know Christ! =) May this coming camp be a sweet memory to you, whether it's your first, or one of the many you've joined. =) -XiaoEn-
